There are apps that can recover deleted items, don't know if there's a way in windows to natively recover files like that.

When we delete a file its contents are not deleted straightway only the index entry which stores the information about where the data is stored is deleted thus making that space as free space which is now available for files to be saved on. The data is still there until new data is written on that space. The data which is not overwritten yet can be recovered with the help of data recovery tool. I have used one tool called Kernel for Windows Data Recovery in the past and recover almost 130 GB of data from hard disk which i accidentally formatted.

Stop using the drive immediately and answer yourself of below mentioned questions:

    1) Did i saved any data after deleting the files on same location?
    2) Did I choose to format the drive to delete files?

Answering no for above questions might save your data life and we can help you to recover your data back. There are bunch of junk utilities (Both comes in free and paid mode) which guarantees you to recover your data. Though, you might have pretty tough time while searching for some efficient utilities to recover your data. Below are few free and paid utilities that you might try for best results.

Stellar Phoenix File Recovery (Free to Try and to see preview of your deleted files)
    Recuva (Completely Free Program)

    Good Luck!!

Data Recovery Software and Undelete from R-TT

Take the drive out of the PC and slave it on a PC running r-tools. Stop using the PC that has the deleted file if you really need the file back.
