Well we aren't at then end but we are pretty close.. did you do everything you wanted to do in terms of your IT career/certs?

    me:

I got my first cert in June which was good, as I've been here so long and achieved very little, I then got my second this month (ITIL). I am very happy with the progress I've made this year tbh, as I am the type of person to sit and want something but never really go out and get it, its definitely boosted my overall confidence not just in IT but personally. I do have a job prospect working on a helpdesk which may even happen this year, but if it doesn't I am hoping by sometime next year I will land a helpdesk job which I'm feeling pretty positive about due to the interest I've received already, as I have another opportunity of work in the pipeline.

One thing I will say though to people who are new and have no background in IT and think getting a cert means getting a job is there is no guarantees (this was my thinking when I originally joined), I've found showing that your interested and willing to learn to be the most important factor.. certs may just help you get the recruiters attention but after that its all about you personally.

So my prospects are looking up generally and its all down to the people I met on CF more than anything else!

Hi Juelz, good question. In terms of certs 2015 has been terrible for me, achieving zero certs. Job wise it's been perfect doing all on the job training. I'm all for on the job training of course but 2016 is going to be crammed with certs as I like to have both, just to be sure. If you start a "what certs do you have planned for next year" thread, I've got quite a list

Hmm Study wise, a bit crap. 70-680 beat me a couple of times and really knocked me for six.

Work wise, New job, better benefits and great salary increase.

    Swings and roundabouts I suppose.

Busy year but zero certs unfortunately.

Doing lots of pre sales and consultancy work which is great but also keep in with the hands on with infrastructure upgrades.

Had an interesting time buying IT kit from companies that had gone bust and selling it on for a profit. I was a bit of a Del boy for a time with my house being full of servers, laptops and a couple of VOIP phones systems as well. Sold the lot for a tidy sum (cash) and basically blew the lot on booze and at the casino.

This time next year Rodney! :)

Didn't know you were into boxing. Hattons career went downhill after that fight. I hate Mayweather, I've sent him many requests on twitter for a boxing match but he never replies the wimp.

    • Took a job with extra £££ that helped pay the bills whilst Mrs Ce127 was on maternity leave, but ultimately has ended up being a step back/reduction in exposure. 2016 is all about changing job to get momentum going again.

    • Passed my 70-642, and aiming to get 70-646 by the end of the year to tick off my 2 intended certs for this year.

    • Didn't pounce fast enough to buy a HP Microserver when they were on special offer in the low £100's...now they're back at normal price, in the £300's?!

Interest is waning in boxing lately tbh. Ricky went right off the rails but as both were undefeated at the time the atmosphere was unreal. Went to a Thai boxing competition Sunday just gone which was decent. Tbh I think Jarons right, think pretty boys heard you passed that ITIL and thought ah screw that man kids got mad skills

True, once I start talking about the service lifecycle he would probably be so puzzled causing his brain to explode deeming me the new boxing champ.
