This is the log file that was saved from running HijackThis. This thread hs been started so that we can have someone look over our machines for any potential threats.

    From Dee1810

Here it goes, I'll try again :blink

Thanks for starting this thread, Dee. I do have to ask one thing before anyone else starts adding to it with logs:

PLEASE DO NOT POST THE ACTUAL LOG IN THIS THREAD - copy and past into a text or word document, then upload as an attachment (the tools to do this are at the bottom of the page when you are making you post). Otherwise, I can imagine the sounds of Lunarpages' servers going into meltdown :)

    Thanks

That was my fault, Gav. In a thread in the News forum, I made the suggestion. Dee, Gav's right. We only have so much server space and an attachment is more compact. My bad.

Absolutely right, guys! My fault entirely, I goofed up. I did honestly think of the servers, but I truly thought that the reason that my log file is so massive, is because I'm blessed with a massive hard-drive (oh, do behave!!! )
    It's about 160GB, I think!

Maybe , if you can erase my thread, and start it off again for me... Lack of experience, I think, on my part.
Please sort it out for me. :D

    Many Thanks

As I recall, I was the person that suggested yo post the log into a forum page.
Actually you can do it yourself. There's an Edit button you have access to in your own posts. Go ahead and copy the log, click Edit and just highlight and delete the actual log material from the post. Type in whatever text you want to add. Paste the material into some sort of text document and then use the Manage Attachments button below the post field (scroll down and you'll see it) to attach the document. Then commit the changes and there you go. :)

Interesting log you got there Dee!

What is hijackThis? And what does it do or not do?

I'm a complete noobie to this program!

    Cheers

    dee1810,

I went over your log and looked up everything I didn't recognize. I found nothing bad in it. I shouldn't either with all the anti-spyware/malware software you have running. :biggrin

Dee, I was really tempted to say something like:

"Gee, I'm going over your log now and I don't see....OMIGAWD! Look at all those pr0n dialers you've got!"

But I didn't have the heart.

Thank You so very much Tripwire & Ffreeloader.

Tripwire - don't scare me please!!
Ffreeloader - yeah, that was the only site that I didn't want to be showed up. (not worried though, have loads of new stateside friends now)

I'm thrilled to know that you think everything is pretty much in order. I also have Belarc installed, do you rate that?

    Thanks

I'm no expert in this subject and from what I can see your HijackThis log looks good. the only recommendations I would make would be to get HijackThis to fix these lines.

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {41D68ED8-4CFF-4115-88A6-6EBB8AF19000} - (no file)
    O23 - Service: MySQL - Unknown owner - C:\Program.exe (file missing)

When a file is missing, you should always have HijackThis fix the item.

    Thanks Si

Actually, I have been having a bit of a clean around my hard-drive, and the SQL program was only on there to demonstrate something to me by my tutor. That has completely uninstalled now :D

I'll take a look at the other thing.

    Cheers

The only time I have ever had repeated reports from Tea Timer about registry changes taking place are when I've OK'd things, but not told Tea Timer to remember that I OK'ed the changes. Then it constantly pops up the reminder every time the system makes the change, and it seems to me that this may be what is happening here. This has happened a couple of times. Once I was unsure if I wanted to allow a change permanently until I had researched it, and once I just forgot to check the box that says remember this change.
