My name's Chris - I've just joined these forums and am just introducing myself.

My main reason for wanting to join is to find out more about the internship that Apprenta, part of ICS London, offers. I have a lot of IT experience, most of it training, but no IT qualifications beyond ECDL! The thing that attracts me about it is the certifications you get and the virtually guaranteed job you get at the end. Does anybody have any feedback about this or are there any students out there who have been through the internship?

Any info gratefully received!

hi chris and welcome to cf. haven't heard of that apprenticeship but i can tell you that "virtual" guarantees are something to be wary of and if that is their claim try to get it in writing from them. hope you enjoy your time here.

Hi, i'm also new to this great forum and just like to add, that I was also offered an internship with apprenta. The interview was conducted over the phone and a link which contained a live streaming of his desktop. It really was quite a strange experience, to have an interview over the phone. This guy went on to say the training would cost £6,000, but initially £1,500 then I would pay the rest when I was employed. He went on to say that they were only considering taken the really committed, also mentioned about the lack of experience i had with .NET, but I thought to myself that is the whole point about this training, like they advertised "no experience necessary". Any way I just had a bad feeling about this, during the interview. When the interview finished, he said to phone back to find out if I was sucessful, but I doubt it, due to the fact I informed him that I was unemplyed, and a single parent with 2 kids. I just thought this was just to good to true.

I'd be very wary about computer training companies out there who state they can guarantee a job at end with £20K.

I can't help but laugh when I see those adverts!
