Hey Guys,

Yes I'm new (amazing eh).

Just thought I'd pop on by after a google search listed this site as a good place to start with regards to Microsoft Training.

I've done an MCSE and an MCDST course before, but not the exams. I'm now looking to do the current courses and of course, the exams.

Any recommendations that people could offer me? Would be greatly appreciated.

the best way to start moving forwards is to start with the basics, you've done an MCDST course, so start with the exams for this and move on from there.

The MCDST was about 3 years ago so its likely i've forgotton most of it lol.

I'd have to resit the course I think.

 

No need to take the course again surely? Why not buy a couple of books and revise using those? Much cheaper!

Is having the MCDST worthwhile?

I didnt pay for my course - thankfully my work did haha

 

Depends on what you want to do, and what your work is.

If desktop support is in there somewhere then, yes, MCDST is definitely worthwhile.

I do Desktop Support at the moment, but its not for any MS based product - its a Superbase programme.

I wouldnt think the MCDST would benefit me in my current role, but as I am looking to change companies, then the MCDST would likely be of some use then.

I'll investigate getting some books / course material.
