I'm new to this kind of thing so please be gentle with me...
I had a go at the now defunct BBC get writing forum, but that wasn't very techy and a bit more forgiving (none of us knew what we were doing).
I've spent most of my life in retail, which sucks.
I got hooked with one of these 'make your life better with IT' ads and have been studying for about a year now. I just got my MCAD and am now working on a small team for an insurance company.
Still get the headaches, but at least members of the public don't try and hit you.

Sometimes it makes me feel a bit like a geek.
The Microsoft certification machine is a clever beast, it draws you in and leaves you wanting more. And paying for it...

*exemptions still apply to the backward US highschools that still think jocks who wont get further than the college football team are 'cool', but its ok, teenagers have to grow up and smell the roses at some point
