Hello everyone my name is chris from the UK.

Been looking at some courses for MCDST and MCSE through @dvent and computeach and came across this forums, tbh now im just confused so i hope some of you can help advise me on my next course of action.

1. should i go through a training programme with companies such as @dvent or computeach.

2. go through a collage or uni.

3. what other options are there?

Hi Chris, welcome to CF!

You really have three options open to you which are:

1. Training Provider e.g. Advent etc (Most Expensive)

2. College

3. Self Study

It depends on which learning environment is best for you. I have personally just passed the MCDST which I did as self study. I posted about how I obtained my MCDST here http://www.certforums.co.uk/forums/thread26216.html

When I get onto the MCSA, depending on the material content I will either Self Study or go to my local College. In fact two of the lecturers there on these forums being Modey and Wagnerk.

They can perhaps shed some more light on the College option.

 

Thankyou for ur reply i am thinking that the advent way is the wrong way to go and will give the self -training a go. i have been looking on the microsoft site and seen the books to purchase. I will read the thread you have posted and hopefuly I will make my decision and not regret it .

btw you will probebly be seeing alot of me on here bugging you all and asking questions

Having been on both sides (self study and training provider) I also recommend the self study route.
