    Hi Welcome :)

I work in prepress also for my local newspaper.

You don't really need to do a course for the A+ you could self study for it. The two best books to get for the A+ are: compTIA A+ all in one exam guide by Mike Meyers and PC Technician street smarts by James Pyles.

If you really want to do a course I can't advise you with that, but its a waste of money in my opinion.

    Welcome to CF.
Everyone learns in a different way.
I find a tutor led course helps me to start & then self studying kicks in.
What part of the World/Uk are you in as this would help in helping you?

I'd agree with what has been said - A+ is a good general PC hardware/software course to study, or if its more desktop support role you're doing then maybe Microsofts MCDST.

Either way, you can do a college course in the evenings (we have a few tutors on here), do a self-study course (ie, reading some select texts to understand the content of the course) or more simply, get a spare computer and break it/repair it again - best way to learn is through practice.

Welcome to CF as well :D
