    Hi

I came across this site after having a rep from skills train come round trying to sell me a CIW Website Design Manager Qualification. Having never come across CIW I thought I should check out how relevant the qualification is, before forking out over £3K.

    Thanks

    Matt

Hi & welcome to CF :)

Alot of people here will say that a profolio is the way to go. However if you wish to get certified, in this area of IT, then I would suggest looking at either a cheaper course, or consider self-studying this.

    Hope this helps

As I have had my hands burnt with giving money away for someone to tell you to "read these books" then get back to us (well not in those words) i would suggest doing self study, in my future studies thats what i shall be doing

welcome....and ditto to what the others are saying. Having taken a few courses from a training provider, worked for one in a sys admin type role, and taken the self study route I would suggest the self study is probably the way to go.

Like everyone else has said, self study is the better option IMO.

Self Study it is then :biggrin

The woman from Skills Train told a very convincing story and yes the course looked good but I am the kind of person who would much rather do something for them self rather than pay, hell that's the reason I got into web design in the first place.

    Another +1 for self-study.

Plus being thrifty is always good fun. Who wants to spend more money than they need to eh?
