    Hi Guys,

I've setup two ISP's on my Watchguard firewall incase one goes down etc. Long story short im now getting exchange problems as its trying to use the new, second line, and cannot. I get the following return...

Reason: 550 Demon SMTP service not available from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (550)

I can see why its happening, but am struggling to find a solution, if anyone has any suggestions or ideas, they would be greatly appreciated!!

Check the SMTP routing, it sounds like its coming in over one and going out over the other.

We had that a while back but I dont know how it was sorted.

I've used Watchguard stuff in the past but not touched it for some time so can't remember the solution for this (sure we had the same situation with a client a few years back).

Have you tried logging in to the Watchguard support site and checking for a solution. The online support was pretty good from what I can recall.

Sounds like the other ISP doesn't want to route e-mail for you... because it's not hosted there, perhaps?

It sounds like your exchange server is using a demon smart host. Either route by DNS or specify credentials for the smart host, basically if you are connecting from a non Demon line you need to authenticate before using the smart host.

I think its post.demon.co.uk or something like that.
