Hi, I'm the Wombat. Says it all really. I was in the process of typing this earlier when my wife (a teacher, using the last two weeks of her 'holiday' doing school work) called up to remind me that it was time to 'put the veg on'. Look at my profile and it'll all make sense!
Look forward to investigating the site, when I'm not slaving over a hot stove that is.

Hi wombat1 and welcome to The board! I am a bit of a house husband myself, having recently started my own business and not having enough clients yet. Nothing wrong with that IMHO :dry

Yeah, I'm a "kept man" too, at least until I can find someone to hire me. To tell the truth I hate it. My generation was not raised to be comfortable with having a woman supporting a man, and I absolutely detest doing housework. I don't mind cooking, in fact, I love cooking. It's just the dishes afterward that drive me crazy.

'Tis true that I do do washing up but only because our wok is too big and usually deeply encrusted with burnt on vindaloo sauce

Still addicted to the Indian spicy stuff, rubys etc. A legacy left over from me mispent youf in Souf London. It's a shame the Indian restaurants here do not compare

There are very few drawbacks to an "empty nest", but I have to admit dishwashing and lawnmowing are two of them....
