I'm Neill. I stumbled upon this forum while trying to find some info about comptia a+ courses, although now I'm considering self study.

And I'd very much recommend self study, I've spent around £150 in total on material for all of my certs, compared to the £1000s for what some of the courses can be!

And as for A+, the Mike Meyer's All-in-one book is always highly recommended.

I agree with JSH333.... self study (as long as you have the motivation and self-discipline to do so) is a great way to earn your certs!

Thanks for the encouragement, I already just bought this book, CompTIA A+ Cert Guide (220-701 and 220-702) [Hardcover]
Mark Edward Soper (Author), David L. Prowse (Author), Scott William Mueller (Author) mainly as it features windows 7. It looks pretty comprehensive to me, any thoughts?
