Just signed up here as I am looking at going down the MCSA/MCSE route.
I'm trying to work out what the best way of achieving these qualifications are.
Searching google seems to come across a lot of online/distance learning programs but how good are these?
Is it better to find somewhere that does courses I can visit? (I live in the north east so any suggestions welcome!)
Or do I just buy a book or two and attack it myself?
I have enough equipment about to do this and I have networking knowledge and am currently an IT admin dealing with Server 2003/2008 xp and windows 7 (although work aren't supported and I get paid a pittance as this is my secondary title)
I hope you can all help!

If you have hands on experience already, just buy some books and go down the self study bit. The simpler exams shouldn't be too much of a bother for you doing self study anyway.

    Thanks for the advice.

Would you (or anybody else on this forum) be able to recommend a book or two?
There seems to be so many to choose from

    Ok, confused now.
Have the MCTS and the MCITP replaced the MCSA and MCSE respectively?

The MCITP certs are based on Server 2008. MCSA and MCSE are arguably still relevant as people will still be using them for a long time though as I understand it MS Support has officially ended for Server 2003 so not sure how long the exams will be around for.

And welcome to the forum :)
