    Welcome to CF :)

If your thinking of going with a training provider, do try and stay around, you'll find the majority of us here suggesting you try self studying over paying out thousands for not alot. :biggrin

Hi & welcome to CF :)

I would recommend either the self-study route or approach your local college/Uni to see if they do professional IT certifications. Some are IT academies and offer Microsoft/Cisco/Comptia courses at a fraction of the cost that private training companies charge. As not everyone is suited for the self-study route.

    Hi Welcome :)

Self study or a college/uni like what Ken said. Don't get ripped off, if you need help and advice thats what this place is for and there are plenty of really experience people on here who know what they are talking about.

I was going to be doing a course with Advent (Advanced Networking Specialist is the one they are offering me after a phone interview, didnt specifically want this but Advent told me this course would suit me best from the answers I gave them to thier questions) at a cost of £5960. After reading bits from Zimbo and other posters Im not so sure now. I was going to pay for it tomorrow (had a lump sum of cash fall on my lap, 6k is pretty much all of it) but I might take Zimbos guide and try it that way, starting with A+ and going from there. Dont want to get ripped of for 6k when Zimbos guide looks so appealing.
