    Yep! self study is the way to go as with your experience you'd find it compliments well. Well with regards to cert it really does depend on your experience as well as interest, for servers start with the MCSE or networks with the Network+, CCNA and then CCNP etc. Cheerio:)

    I was thinking along the lines of MCSE or a Comptia course...

    With your experience, you don't need a course (for that matter, nobody *has* to take a course to get certified... but you, in particular, would have even less need to take a course than others). Just read a study guide or two and go take an exam. :)
