Just introducing myself to your goldmine of a forum.

I'm Stee, a 22yr old bloke from the Wirral. Having flunked a degree at uni (games technology), I became unemployed before landing a 6month job under the future jobs fund for a small film and media production company. After my contract ended last month, I decided to look at my options for employment and decided to look into a MS Certification. Speaking to friends I was recommended to have a look at the MCDST as a good starting cert, which seems to be in the midst of being replace by the MCITP stuff. Googling the stuff came here and Ive been browsing for a week or so. I'm told the Starter level stuff is fairly straightforward, so I've started slowly studying the stuff to fill in the odd gap or 2 in my knowledge (Windows 7 configuring). I hope to book my exams just after Xmas when I hopefully have some money. I have been building machines for a long time (I built my first one when I was around 12) so I'm hoping I should be capable of passing the MCITP with a bit of study.


I'd just like to thank the admins and the members who have contributed to such a useful site. I've struggled to find some useful resources on MS certifications and this site is truly a blessing.

Apologises for the long life story etc. At least it gave my fingers some excercise

Actually the best starting point isn't MCDST, that is a great entry level cert but... you should be looking at vendor neutral certs initially, the A+ and N+ are great at giving you the foundations of what you need to build a good knowledge in IT. Trust me i know, i skipped these and regretted it ever since and you cant go back in life, forward is the only way.. so pick up the right keys as you go.
