Hi People,

I've decided to get myself some computer qualifications after I had to leave my last job as I split a disk in my back and couldn't do a lot of the work any more.

I used to be an Audio Visual Technician and found myself trouble shooting computer problems all the time so I thought "why not expand on my computer support skills and stop all the lifting of 60inch plasma screens in and out of the back of vans, up peoples stairs and on to walls stuff."

So I'm taking the self study route, I have Mike Meyers' A+ book and James piles' "Street Smarts" book and I think I'm well on the way to getting my first certification (CompTIA A+)

This looks like a fascinating forum and I hope to learn a lot here.

Welcome to CF and remember there is quite a lot of lifting in the IT arena as well when talking about servers mounted on racks, UPS and desktops etc. Just play safe as best you can by using a trolley, lending an extra pair of hands etc.
