Hi, im having trouble running the cd that comes with the book A+ CERTIFICATION ALL-IN-ONE EXAM GUIDE 6TH EDITION, i have Vista home Basic

Is there any way around it, its asking fir a update of my media player but i cant seem to download the newer version

Once had a similar problem with the CCNA study cds when i tried running them on my Vista Home Premium. Think it has to do with codecs that are not compatible with Vista. So i moved the cds to the virtual machine installed on my system where i have XP installed...Bingo! was good to go

 

Still not working

What am i missing out on, i know its only a demo cd, where can you buy the full version from and how much does it cost

 

cant you run it in compatibility mode for XP?
on the shortcut thats linked to the .exe, right click and go to properties.
go to Compatibility tab, run this program option and then select XP.
i think you may need an account that has administative acciunts for this to run

 

Download X codec Pack. See if that helps

 

Don't think the codec pack will help Obinna, the AIO cd misdetects the media player version in Vista.

You can access the majority of the cds content by just right clicking the cd and selecting open, you can then run launch.exe which will open the cds launcher and allow you to install the practice exams and open the ebook. The section which doesn't work is the learnkey videos which you can access seperately in the media directory on the cd.

 

It tells you in the AIO guide how much the videos cost, those fixes that have been posted about this do actulally work I have tried them. what he said ^ definetly works.
