Anyone had any problems with RDP over the past couple of days I've had 3 different machines some work related some not that are unable to create rdp connections to some servers. Some say "because of a protocol error this session will be disconnected" and then my own home laptop win7 ultimate has problems connecting to one of my lab servers 2k8 giving an "licencing error" as the reason for not connecting.

Probably just a coincidence but thought I'd throw it out there!

    No issues here mate.

Is it only on your laptop you have had issues? If so try a netsh winsock reset

Updates haven't effected me either. Could be an AV issue perhaps infecting system32 files, doubtful but maybe so run a scan.

Run a chkdsk, maybe you have errors on your disks.....

Sorry mate, clutching at straws here :S mstsc.exe is in the system32 folder, you could try overwriting it with a copy that works, its only small but I think this will probably need some tinkering with file permissions
