I'm going to a party tonight as Carles Puyol complete with a wig for 'the hair'!!!

I was going to go to halloween part tonight dressed as Michael Myers, unfortunately someone is paying me to build a PC for them and I need to test it and deliver it after work. I would have built it tommorow but they said they'll pay double for tonight

 

I would have told them to foxtrot oscar and gone out and enjoyed myself, especially if you don't have to pay for anything

 

I don't have to dress-up. I'm allready scary as I am...

 

WFH today.

Can't believe how many kids there are knocking already - they all made an effort, which is quite cute really! (glad i'm equipped with sweets!!)

 

Oddly enough, today is also Breast Cancer awareness day, so I have been looking terribly scary dressed up in pink with the rest of the office to raise money for the charity

 

Not dressing up myself, by my little girl and her friend are off trick or treating together. My daughter is the witch.

 

I presume you mean the Halloween character, for a split second I thought you were referring to the guy who writes the all in one A+ and Network+ guides!! I was gonna say he doesn't look that scary!!

Actually, I haven't celebrated Halloween for many years; pretty much since coming to faith. While I used to think that Halloween was just the world's largest organized costume party, I can't really get past its origins and what I'd truly be honoring by going along with the program.

We usually just close the shutters, turn out all the lights and hide out until the "trick or treaters" go away. Yeah I know...I'm a "stick in the mud".

 

Actually halloween is presumed to be deep rooted in the celtic-pagan history so is very relevant to the UK as a whole, but its just the capitalisation of the festival that makes it seem as if its a USA thing.

From memory a vaguely interesting tid-bit of information, the jack o' lantern originated from a man called jack (something or another) who tricked the devil and the devil cursed him which ment he could not enter hevean or hell so was doomed to wonder the earth at night with nothing but his turnip lantern to guide him.
