Hello people!

Just joined this very useful and informative site, which I happened across as I searched for information on fibre optics courses. Been very interesting reading through some of the content, as I am also looking at gaining certification in other areas such as covering some of the Cisco stuff.

I currently work for a company providing entry and parking systems, primarily dealing with the installations of equipment all over the country for car parks, sightseeing and tourist attractions. We've taken on a few large projects recently, all of which utilise fibre as a major backbone in the installations, hence my seeking information on courses and learning opportunities on this subject. My background has largely been in an administration and support capacity, but I've decided to branch out and see where this move takes me.

I look forward to hearing from you folks, and hope I'll be able to help from time to time!

Which field of IT are you interested in? I think you might want to start with the A+ cert and then the N+ cert if needed or applicable.
