Just signed up for the forum and thought I'd better introduce myself.

Made redundant from my brain numbingly dull job as of yesterday, so now looking to use the redundancy payout to give me time to study for something better

Currently looking into the CIW exams, since I did a bit of web design 6 or 7 years ago and would like to get back into that field. Just need to get my hand back in and get that piece of paper that says I can do it

More important than the certification is an e-portfolio of sites you've designed. Sure, the certification is great... but Web design shops don't care that much about whether you know the theoretical aspects of Web design... they care about what you can actually design.
