RIght so after joining this forum so far it has helped me decide to self study for CompTIA A+ rather than use computeach (£5000 better off!) so I've got the books on the way to study but is there any tips on what I should also do to help me with my studying?

Yep and im not happy really! Reason im good with computers is ever since I was ten my dad used to bring home computers from the council and I used to have to mix them to get a working one etc etc but chucked them all out a while back could of been good practice machines well apart from the 5 1/4 inch drive ones !!!

In defence of some training companies....

Advert workshops and tutors are very good... which is where the expense is.

    Workshops are excellent for beginners.

I noticed that a lot of people that moan about advent pay then dont go to the workshops... which is madness.
That's like buying a six pack of beer, drinking one and then throwing the rest away.

just a note. I got the MIke Meyers AIO and the PC Technican streets and an old PC from a recycling centre all for the grand price of £80

The PC Technician street smarts book has the exercises in it that you can practice on the junk PC which is quite cool.
