Have been told that money's going to be tight at work next financial year, so I was chuffed when they let me get a new server!

    Getting a HP DL140.

Ok's so it's not the best of pieces of kit but it will replace an aging thing that we have at present. It will basicaly be a print server, and a backup DC.

I only got it because I saw the offer and said "we can buy this now and save about £1000 on what we'll pay if we miss out on the offer". Strangely my boss (the Financial Manager) said I'm sure that we can find the money!

It's amazing what you can get if you say "save money"! That things costing less than my laptop!

    :biggrin

One of the most necessary skills in work is the handling of your manager!

    Well done!

If it were possible to look smug over the Internet I would be...

We have 3 mirrored cabinets of SCSI drives each with a capacity of around 15TB (that's on our VMS system though, but still...).
