Second time in a very short period of time (bad weather a few weeks ago) that I have had to action the DR plan for some of my customers.

Nightmare mate. If it makes you feel better one of my customers recently had a vSAN robo ready node go down during the recent snow, so they sent an engineer. When he got there he found that the room had flooded and it was entirely under water. Hopefully he took his trunks and armbands :S

Well the power was cut to the building so we had no visibility of what the state of the IT environment was at the time.

Restored the server as VM in a cloud environment and the staff were able to access resources via TS. Phone system was down so diverted the main number to a hosted solution and staff could take calls via softphones on their laptops.

All went to plan but would prefer a quiet day in the office
