After a bit of intense studying I passed 70-270

As with all exams, preparation is the key. I was well prepared and it was no problem.

Not so sure the next one will be the same story......

It was 58 questions, no sims just pretty much standard questions as per Testking/Measureup etc.

NTFS/share effective permissions was a bit of a weak spot for me - mind went a bit blank. Only a couple of questions on that though.

Thing is Zim, it looks like it Elvis made a mistake.

With the ammount of 'free' study material out there, how was he supposed to know it was a 'brain dump.'

Braindumps are something that people just starting out, can easily come across unwittingly. I know it's not a good idea to tell people which things are braindumps, because then they know what to look for. But without telling people what is, and what isn't, how are they supposed to know?

So Zim, please calm it down dude, I'm sure Elvis didn't know, or he wouldn't have done it and told us.

Sorry guys, this is an honest mistake.

I have studied hard using Learnkey and CBT Nuggets media, as well as the official Microsoft courseware, McGraw Hill/Osbourne/Learnkey book, and Cramsession notes - as well as having two PC's and a laptop running everything from '98 to XP and server 2003 as well. And virtual PC too.

Yes I did go over Testking material, but 1) it did not form the basis of my study, and 2) I really had no clue - I thought it was just more exam prep material (I used Measureup too, I assume that's ok??).

Whilst one part of me would like to take back ever having mentioned it, I'm glad I did as now I know to leave well alone.

JE - I think it was clear from the start that you didn't know that these "materials" were what they are. It's a natural reaction from our Members against what we all agree are devaluaing what we work towards.

Don't worry about some of the reactions above - if it means you now know the right way and the wrong way to gain your certs, then I'd say that's a pretty good lesson.
