    Goals

New Year is around the corner, people make new year resolutions and stuff, i like to call them goals...

My goals for next year is somewhat reasonable, if i stay committed and stick with you bunch of geeks... :tongue

Complete A+, N+ and maybe another cert, or least start on one (not sure yet).

Succeed in whatever role (work) i have, try and move up the ladder rather than sit on my arse and faff around here all bleeding day (not that i dont enjoy doing it :biggrin ).

Spend more time with labs, try and save some money to get at least another rig.

Thats my plan for 2k7, with the help of these bad ass geeks we have at CF, im sure i will accomplise them... :respct

    Whats yours?

My Goals are much the same as yours Cheeks, still starting out in this industry and the next year hopes to be a big one with progression etc..

    1. To obtain A+ and N+ certs.

    2. To continue to do well in my current job, and climb the wages ladder.

    Goals outside IT?

    1. To continue to save for my own place!

    2. To pay the rest of my loan off for my car early in the year, and then save enough to go Mexico in November 07!

Not sure whether Im being to realistic, or not pushing myself enough. Time will tell. :)

Interesting thread though, whos next

My goals for this year in no particular order:

    1. Complete my MCSA by around August. I'm in a bit of a hiatus at the moment though because I'm waiting for my girlfriend to drop our first sprog. I've taken a month off work for it, I'm into my second week already and still no sign.

    2. Get the promotion at work that I have been all but promised as long as I don't make any big f**k-ups.

    3. Get to grips with Linux beyond installing it.

    4. Enjoy life! :)

    5. Get a Wii (which I think my GF has got me for Christmas so fingers crossed).

    1. Get BrainBeacon off the ground and profitable.

Well... that's about it. Sure, I could lose a few pounds, but is that really important? I've already got a great wife, two great kids, a great spiritual life, a solid career, and everything I could possibly need (not everything I could possibly want - but the wants aren't important). I simply hope to improve what I'm already doing. :)

    Happy 2007, y'all.

We're developing high-quality IT practice exams. I and one of my partners (Josh) wrote them for years for another large, highly successful, practice exam company (take a guess ;) ). Another partner helped with engine development there.

We hope to have BrainBeacon's first products released by March or April. You'll also see our writing in Sybex's soon-to-be-released Vista Study Guide for 70-620.

PADI or NAUI, Phoenix? I'm a swim test away from becoming a certified Divemaster, but ever since we had kids, my scuba time has disappeared completely.

    Neither mate
I am a PADI Rescue diver and was well on my way to DM but studying for DM highlighted just how dodgy my instructor was (broke pretty much every rule under the sun but I never knew it until i knew what all the rules were) so crossing over to BSAC (British Sub Aqua Club)
I had wanted to complete DM before cross over as i would cross over at Dive Leader level, instead i'm going to have to cross over the level below and start Dive Leader from scratch
but as i've been out of the water for a year i think its for the best :)

Also TDI Nitrox and Deco theory qualified
Work keeps getting in the way :)

We had two in our Rescue Diver class, me and another guy. About two weeks after the class, the other guy and our instructor were out swimming in a quarry and found a guy at the bottom, not moving. Classroom training was quickly put to real-world use as they got him to the shore. Autopsy revealed there was no malfunction of his equipment... he had had a heart attack underwater. :(
