Hi guys,

I've googled my ass off and can't find this information anywhere. What does one actually need to move to Gibraltar for work? it's a British land right? so I assume you wouldn't actually need a visa or anything of the sort? just a valid passport?

I know this is off topic and completely random and really lazy. But I really can't seem to find anything on it.

You need a EU/British passport to live/work there or a valid work permit.

 

Hiya mate, I worked in Gibraltar for a year (2006-2007), you don't need anything other than passport. It's British territory, everyone speaks English, there are red phone boxes and even a Morrisons! Rent is quite high in Gib but the best thing is to get a place over the border in La Linea (Spain) and just walk through every day. It's cheap there and if you are a young guy it's like being on holiday, great weather, beaches, cheap booze, nice restaurants, loads of young xpats around doing the same thing and southern spain is beautiful.
Are you looking at the online casino's/poker? If so I would definitely recommend it, you learn loads and the money is usually good. I had a great time.

Well, Flight is booked for Monday. Have arranged to rent a room for 5 months. Have enough to live off including rent. So fingers crossed guys.

hahah best of luck. Only reason i doubted it was yesterday you didn't know if it was possible and today your booked.

 

You guys confirmed I could just go. Nothing else to consider. I have the apartment booked. I can hang on for 6 months without a job. I doubt it will take 6 months in reality but you never know. I can always come back. You don't get anywhere waiting for it to come to you is what I say.

I've got a friend who lives in Gib, and he is VERY highly talented in the world of IT, and he's still contracting in the UK because of the lousy opportunities back home.
