I am looking for such a tool to monitor network load especially the different components of domain based tragic pc by pc. I am not looking for a permanent solution like the like of nagios and would rather it be a windows app that can be placed on a laptop etc.

PRTG is awesome. You get five nodes completely free before having to register it. Other than that, you'll need to look at Cacti - which is snmp-based graphing and can be ported to Windows. I've used it successfully (in fact I use it at home on Windows) but it requires a bit of setting up, and can take some getting used to, Luckily there are some awesome forums on the Cacti site.

You can get 20 sensors free with PRTG if you put a graphic on your website for them and send the sales folks an email :)
