Hi All

Anyone got any god 4-4-2 or 4-3-2-1 formations for Football Manager?

I have been trying to create my own but they seem so inconsistant. Winning a couple and then going downhill.

Any advise on conquering this version would be appreciated!

kasper schmeichel in goal is a good start in my opinion

 

The last time I played Football Manager it was Peter Schmeichel that was the best goalie...

 

Kasper plays for Leicester City, I was at the Ipswich game when Leicester won 6-0, he didn't have to put much work in but when he did he was great

 

I haven't seen him play for a few years to be fair, but when he was younger he made his fair share of blunders! I guess he's improved over the years by the sounds of it!

 

FM 13 is a little harder this time but not that much in terms of tactics. What tactics are you using and what team?

 

FM 13 is much harder and the new match engine is buggy. There are far too many goals from crosses (your opponents scores a lot this way) and the lack of through balls. You can get steamrolled by the "weaker" teams much easily from what I've found. If you look at the SI forums, there are many posts regarding the crossing issue I mentioned and they have made it worse with the latest update. I don't think I can enjoy the game until they release the patch

 

I take that would be the 5-4-1 with WB and a DMC and three CM's?

Are you patched up to 13.2.2? There is way to much space allowed still by the full backs against any formation and tactics is seems. The ME patches have made things a little better, but you have to concetrate more on individual instructions as well.

 

If it's the patch that fixed 2 bugs then yeah. I don't know it seems that my players don't really follow the instructions I set. I'm itching to play it again though but at the same time don't want to as I'm on the verge of getting sacked (spent too much time building my squad and backroom staff) and would be a bad idea to play with this patch

 

I hear you on that. Among the FM community the question of whether the ME actually follows instructions is debatable. I remember starting a save of FM12 with Braintree, the football we were playing could have graced the Camp Nou. Anyway, that should have been addressed imho. The avarage BSP player is not going to able to pass like a PRM player. Damn, now I'm thinking about FM13 again. Signed Wellington Nem for 9.75Mil for Everton, the bolke is a legend on the game

 

Wellington Nem was the first player I bought for my team; an absolutely bargain at £3.75m I initially played him as an AMR due to having more accomplished players in his natural position but now plays as an AMC.

The patch should be out quite soon
