I did the MCTS upgrade exam, which incorporates the 70-640. I found the exam fair and alot easier to understand than the older "MCP" exams, this doesn't mean that the exam are easy though. You can read about it here.

As for what I think of Server 2008, I think it's great. There are a few things I find annoying, but the enhancements outweight them by far. In fact, not only are we already using 2008 servers, this summer we're upgrading our domain/forest to 2008.

That won't happen with Windows 2008, especially since R2 is on it's way The 2008 certs will apply to 2008 and the R2 release (there won't be a separate track for R2). And it's a pretty good OS.
