Watching the European Championships I was struck by just how much better than the Britsh anthem many of the national anthems out there are.

My favourite is, and always has been, the Russian anthem - absolutely friggin awesome. Like the Italian and (of course), the Spanish one too. Anyone have any other favourites?

Canadian - but I'm biased

 

The English anthem is amazing... not only that, but everyone sings it as loud as possible because we love our country.. thats why ours is the best

I like the croatian national anthem personally, 'Our Beautiful Homeland' its got really good words as well. All the national anthems you hear are usually about liberty and equality and a pride in their country, ours is about saving the queen. No wonder I don't feel passionate about it, I think the queen with all her security can look after herself!

 

Nothing beats the Italian IMO - yet if you understand the words to the greek one and you bellowing it out with 30k other greeks its hair raising!!!!

 

Don't bother, zeb works for them.

Personally I like the Russian one. It just seems to reach inside of me to the core and fills me with inspiration (and I'm not even Russian).
