I'm currently considering to buy this adsl2 modem for a mate.
i want this to obviously be a modem, plus elimate the need for an additional switch (network other computers to bband), which this is doing.
What you guys reckon? Would it be simply for a complete and utter newbie to set up? link here

No wireless? Might be something that is needed in the future, perhaps go for a router with wireless capability as well?

Ahh, you might be able to pre-configure it for them. Fire in the ADSL username and password and hope for the best! :biggrin

If they have wireless already, and this has no wireless, how do you expect them to use their wireless PCs?

IMHO - If they want wireless then buy a wireless unit.

thats what i said. i told them that i buy the wireless for them, and set the wireless another time, they still can have net access but wired, and i'll lend them my switch, and when i get time i'll pop down.
