Firstly, you didnt need to double post. You only need to post once onto this forum.

Furthermore, this is not a consumer help site. We advise on certifications. If you have a legal issue with a contract you signed, and the service you receive, then you need to speak to a lawyer, or ask for help on a site that specialises in consumer advice.

We can advise on what certs to take, on resources to use, but we are not best placed to help with any form of legal advice.

Thanks Fergal. But I saw another closed post about the company so thought of posting the message again and find some help here.

When did this happen? What does your paper work say in regard to cancelling?

Why do you believe it to be a scam?
Have you by any chance done your homework a bit late and stumbled upon the many posts here that claim it is, or have you actually experienced a problem with them?

I'm from India and recently finished my Masters here in UK.
Have got 2yrs experience as System Admin so apply for jobs here. As I'm not getting any call backs I started applying for entry level jobs.

Day before yesterday I got call and they invited me for interview. Offered me a job with a clause that I need to pass 5 microsoft certification and I need to pay them £500. Now they aren't responding to my emails nor that I'm able to get through them over phone :( . And the exam I need to take up are seemingly outdated i.e 70 270, 70 290 etc

Paper work says I should be cancelling on the same day. As I couldn't do it in person, as they gave me very less time to think, I have done that over email.

    1. Send them a letter saying you are not happy that you can't contact them.
    2. Make sure you haven't set up any standing orders or regular payments.
    3. If they don't respond, have a word with Citizen's Advice.
    4. If still nothing happens, contact consumer protection (trading standards).

In all cases, keep notes, records and paperwork.
Make sure you write clearly and give details - you won't get anywhere if you just say 'it's a scam'.

70-270 (which I recently passed) and 70-290 (which I'm currently studying for) aren't outdated, or I'll be well annoyed. So will my work because that means they will have to immediately upgrade a couple of hundred servers and several thousand workstations.
Are these not the jokers who say you have to pass 5 exams, one of which was retired in March. There's your get-out clause.

I know this sounds kinda obvious but if you have a masters and system admin experience, why did you not just take the certs yourself anyway before looking for a job, also when someone says yes you will get a job but you must first pay £500 should have alarms ringing that, that is my week/months wages.

When i went for an interview them, they asked me sign papers and i was told i will have to pay them £200. I refused to sign it and told them i will think about it when i get back home. They even tried to pressurize me to sign it saying if i dont i might not get it. During my interview day there were loads of other people too which i hope didnt fall into their trap. Please do not sign any papers or give them money.

Anyways i got a proper job just 2 mins walk from their building on Liverpool street.

They called me up today and threaten to take legal actions against me for posting this in this forum. They were able to trace me as I had used my real name unlike others. Any advice guys.

For the note. They have asked me to take this thread down/delete it and I even tried ways to delete it but it isn't possible as I don't have admin rights. I just wonder what sort of legal actions I may need to face :(...First loose 500 pounds which is a good sum of money for a student. and again face a legal action :(.

By the way, as I understand from some of native country men whom they are seemingly targetting specifically in this unethical means of making money (may be legal in this country). They charge different fees for different people for the same course. Some one paid 250pounds, I paid 500pounds and some other have paid almost 1000.

Well, you have pretty much accused a company of illegal activity (a 'scam') on a public forum using your real name. That's possibly the second not very clever thing you've done of late... :biggrin

If they've got a problem with this thread they need to take it up with the staff. Ultimately proving who said what on the Internet and who has juristiction over that site or responsibility for what is on there is not something that is ever easy to sort out. Won't stop them bullying you though.

I just hope they don't create an account on here and try to 'sort it all out'.

Said it on another thread but here goes

A lot of this is turning up on CF at the moment and at a risk of sounding unsympathetic Caveat Emptor is the best advise I'm afraid.
