    Hi,

I am building my first PC it is going well I can get it to boot up anyway but when I go to open the DVD drive the door opens and shuts really quickly to quick for me to put the disc in.

Does anyone know why this could be happening, I checked the cables and they all look correct.

Do you try to put the disc in during boot? Boot usually triggers tray close so this would happen. You can always unplug the data cable and boot it with power cable plugged in. You would be able to open it and leave it open until you want to close it.

What if you go into BIOS? Does it let you open CD tray for longer?

    Hope this makes sense.

I pulled out the data cable turned it on and it stayed open so I put the cable back in rebooted and will now install windows and see how it goes.
