    Morning guys,

No idea where to post this, as im looking for help about a problem im stressing about, but if a mod could advise me where it should be i'd be greatful!

Right, so I had two computers with the same name on our domain, so one couldnt logon and was getting "Domain Controller either down or unavailable" so I renamed the other computer and restarted. I still cannot logon to the other computer, and im getting the same error, after a few restarts etc.

I can ping to and from the computer without any problems etc and to be honest, im pretty much lost on how to resolve this issue, any suggestions would be great!

    Thanks,

    Paul

First thing I would try is to clear any dns entries for both machines on your dns server. Also if you are running WINS, delete the entry for those machines as well. A quick restart should then get them to re-register their names to IP.

AJ, thank you very much. :)

Something that seems to obvious and simple now causing me such a problem. Ah well, guess it'll all come in experience.

    Thanks again!
