Anyone using it? My brother sent me the link today. I think it's really handy - a bit like Foxmarks for files and folders - 2GB is free!

If you want to sign up, can you use the link below? This way, we both get an extra 250MB :biggrin

I've been using Dropbox for a number of months now. It does what it does pretty well.

I've found it absolutely destroys your bandwidth if you use it for big sized files.. A few designers were hosting indesign \ photoshop files on there.. not pretty at all.

But other than that, pretty cool repository service :)

I use it and the only "meh' I have found with it is that it cannot tell when yiou change an encrypted file. I have a password safe in there that I was updating but not syncing, in the end the only way round it I found was to rename it everytime I made a change, which is soewhat tiresome. Other then that however it is really good, well worth a look.

    evening everybody,

just thought i would give this thread a bump considering we have many new members since i posted it last year.

Dropbox provides 2GB of free storage. It allows you to sync files across computers (for example work and home) seamlessly so you can always access important files on the move. there is also a web interface which allows you to view files, download or print them should you want to (for example on a computer where you would like access to your files without having to install the application).
it only uses port 80 and 443, so it's ideal for accessing files you require whilst working somewhere which has everything locked down.

use this link from my account and we both get an extra 250mb!

    Still loving it mate.

I think they give you extra space if you work through all their tutorials too.

It's great for accessing files on the move, without having to resort to memory sticks etc.
It's also dead handy as you can share some of your folders with certain people so it's a great way of sharing photos etc rather than clogging up your email.

There's also a tidy mobile app for the ipod/iphone so you can get your docs on there, which I really like.

I liked it so much I pay for the 50 gig version with the ability to get back my deleted files/earlier revisions.
