Going to give it a whirl tonight mate :) I had my money on Server 2012. I suppose it could still be that on account of the quotation marks around the 8 on MS's website.
Calling it Windows 8 is just going to confuse with 2008 IMHO so I'm surprised they've called the Beta that for the Server edition. Fair due's for the client OS.

I've downloaded it too going to have a play with it tonight, I'm most interested in any hyper-v enhancements. But I do really hope that have improved the appliance feel of the OS, I think that 2k8R2 really feels like an appliance (set and forget type of thing) so hopefully they've refined that even more in server 8.

    I'll take a look later :D

I haven't read too much into it, but it's my understanding that the 'Server Core'-esque installation supports PowerShell properly (fingers crossed you can have a GUI-less Exchange Server now, which you can't on 2008), and that Hyper-V is dramatically improved. I'm not so sure about trying to implement the Metro style GUI, but who uses GUIs these days anyway?! ;)
