      Err btw how useful is it to know JavaScript?

      *Really* useful if you are into web development. Adobe Flash and its variants use a proprietary version called ActionScript so if you want to program in Flash an you know JavaScript, you know about 75% of what you'll need to know to program in ActionScript.
