    Hey guys

I setup a domain and added a computer to it. I can see the drop down menu when I go to login on the member computer and it is set to my domain name. I created an administrator account and logged in with it on a member computer however when I go to add a user to a group from AD I only see the server name.

I can ping the domain controller and I can browse to it through my network places.

    I uploaded a pic.

    Thanks.

    Theprof,

Did you create a computer account for the new computer in AD?

Yes what I did was I created a new account put it in the administrators group and logged in with the new account not on the domain controller but on a different server that is part of a domain.

    Hey r.h.lee,

I finally figured it out, I setup a DNS server and that fixed the problem. I dont know if that was the cause I didnt see the domain in the "locations" part of the adding a user to a group. Also when I was logging in with an account I created it was taking a long time to login but now its fixed with the dns server.

    Thanks again I appreciate it.
