dodgy dial up

    Hi all. Im having problems with my mates aunties computer
    shes on dial up ( bad i know) but she can surf the net no problem, except when she goes on to bank sites or site that are secured.

    she gets cannot find server, and gives me options for sorting it out
    1, click on tools, then click interenet options2
    on the settings tab click lan settings
    3 select automatically detect settings, then click ok
    this is ok , so i cant see what the problem is, any ideas folks :oops:

    I am assuming she is using Internet Explorer...have you tried Firefox? I know she cant download it herself but if you have a copy yourself just bung it on a CD and see what happens...also check for cookies if they are enabled cos sometimes they can be the problem and also make sure they are enabled in her firewall software if she has one....

    Internet explorer > Tools > Internet Options

    Go to the security tab, select default level for all zones.

    Make sure cookies and javascript are enabled.
