Right just finished watching the first episode and I thought it was great, different, but great. A new slant on the Dr's of old.

    What do you guys think?

It was certainly different - time will tell if it gets any good. I think the BBC may have tried a little too hard with this, a lot of the plot seemed forced somehow. Having said that, it's not every Doctor Who that has to fight dismembered plastic arms!

It was OK - better than the oldies? I don't think so. Not yet.

I thought it was great, really enjoyed it. I think they'll get away with a lot just by sticking to the fine old traditions of naff scenery, daft badies and bad acting :D

I thought this first one would be different as they are really starting with a brand characters adn they all needed indroducing to the watchers. My 10 year old daughter watched it and really enjoyed it, even though she has never seen Dr. Who before. Myself, I grew up with "the Doctor" and always watched it when it was on after Grandstand and the news.

The new progs have room to grow and I can't wait till next week :biggrin

Now where did I leave my anorak 8)

Im afraid the bar-stewards called work prevented me from seeing it, and my ball an chain didnt go out and pick up a video to tape it for me. so if anyone taped it and wants to lend it to me that would be great!!!

I thought it is was great, Christopher Ecclestone appeared a little nervous at the beginning and his smile and quirkyness a little forced, but soon it grew on you.

What Russell T Davis said in the companion program was true that you could see different traits of the doctors in the new one. :)

I'm afraid it's a little too late to tell you this, but BBC3 run it again at 7 on Sundays. Assuming you HAVE BBC3 that is!

We won't get it here for years but as it has got Billy Piper starring in it, it must be worth watching even if William Hartnell isn't in it :biggrin

I was actually asking if people liked the new style of Dr Who and the interpreation that the new Dr. had made in this series. He adds a new 21st centry twist to the man that can travel time and space.

and Billie Piper is in it looking very nice

:biggrin Like the new Doctor...although apparently he's already said he's only gonna do this one series to avoid bein typecast....Looks like they've gone to town a bit more on the CG effects in upcoming episodes...actually spent a bit of money unlike at the v tacky end of Sylvester MCoy era..hooray :biggrin
Billy Piper...she's ok but I gotta jus say.....Nicola Bryant (Perry)...

he is indeed parting after only one season
    which kind of annoys me
you know when signing up to something like that, its ever going to flop, or its going to be a multi season thing, that is the nature of the sci fi beast
i for one HATE it when they try and change actors and keep the role, its annoying as hell, granted things like Dr Who and James bond is acceptable over time, but after one season? wtf just annoying

    never understood typecasting either hehe
    oh well
    we move on

might not even bother watching it now if its just gonna change actors in season 2

    back to Battlestar Galactica! :)

At the moment Outpost Gallifrey have closed their forum, it seems things got a little heated when it was confirmed that Christopher Ecclestone had quit.
