Just joined this ere forum. Bloody good stuff being thrashed out!

I have just started studying for the A+ and N+

Can anyone direct me on where I can get info on DMA channels?

IMHO the Meyers book - frequently mentioned here as being the best for A+ has most of what you need to know about DMA.

Note that these days very little, other than the floppy, uses the DMA system. Nearly all such type of transfers are done by the bus-mastering capability of PCI.
