    Gudday,

I got an interesting problem with my new debian install where the PC does not come out of hibernate mode, as in you click the mouse or hit the keyboard.

If I hold the power button in for several seconds the PC also does not power off either...obviously a service running somehere.

    Any ideas anyone??

What laptop are you using? From what I've read, and I don't, unfortunately, own a laptop, hibernation isn't supported on some makes and models, and on others you have to custom compile a kernel, or compile some needed modules to make hibernation work.

I'd recommend that you go to the Debian site and register on the [email protected] mailing list. Most likely someone on that list has run across this problem. I haven't.
