I just went to the biggest LAN party in Switzerland last night where my friend's business was a sponsor. They put together a fantastic PC just for this LAN party just to show off Crysis (released on Friday).

For anyone into FPS games, this is the one. The gameplay is superb, the graphics are fantasic but be warned, this game will tax your system.

Yes it is a very good game, and yes it needs a decent spec pc.

I downloaded the demo last week, I am going to buy it soon.

Crysis graphics and the game play just blow you away, better than far cry. But like Nugget states LAN playng is better.

Anyone wanting to get into LAN gaming or come along and watch then sign up at the next Muiltiplay.

The link below shows of the last meet and the games played. Quake 4, UT, Crysis and COD4 to name a few there's also Exhibitor on from software houses EA games, activision, packard. Freebies from them. you can bring your own PC or just use one there.

    Check it out:-

I used to help run Multiplay events back when they were decent LAN parties.. now they are just too large, too expensive, and too impersonal
If I wanted to use IRC to talk to people i'm playing with i could do it from home, why travel all the way to a LAN, pay 80 quid!! (they used to be like 15 - 20 lol) just to sit in a room full of people I dont know?

    Multiplay ftl
The whole LAN scene in the UK has changed since broadband, all the smaller ones have packed up, only the huge sponsored ones remain.. and a few of the last remaining smaller ones sold out to league matches and other competitive gaming causes..
    oh well :)
    glad i have :h:0ms pings :)

Try Crysis Warhead. It's more of an expansion pack than a new game still very good and it's less taxing on your system than Crysis but then again mine will play anything at the moment :D

Far Cry 2 is what I'm waiting for :D

I would but as much as I like the game it's not worth it. From the reviews I've read the gameplay is rather limited with it being very short (something around 6 hours to play through it). To me it's not worth paying the double of what I paid for Crysis and getting a quarter of the playing time. :dry

If it gets re-released in 6 months as a cheaper edition then I'll pick it up.
