Hi All,

as we all know, we're experiencing a global pandemic at the moment which is causing more and more of us to self isolate or socially distance ourselves as we look to stem the spread. With this in mind I just wanted to say that all here at Certforums hope that you and your family and friends are healthy and safe.

As a VMware employee, we're used to remote working and already had everything in place due to the nature of our business, but if you're struggling or want any tips, please do message me or feel free to chat on here, we're literally all in this together. My reason for bringing up my employer is that I wanted to alert you to the fact that we've been using our technology for good, as best we can.

VMware staff have created two dashboards that can be used to track the spread of COVID-19, these are publicly available and accessible via VMware Wavefront or a vROPs dashboard, both dashboards data is provided via John Hopkins University. Further VMware teams have also been developing a virtual machine appliance to enable a simple method for VMware powered estates to contribute to the Folding@Home project, the software is simulating the dynamics of COVID-19 proteins to hunt for new therapeutic opportunities.

I'd highly recommend you check out our Wavefront Dashboard, vROps if you have it and deploy the Folding@home ova or install the app, I have. You're very welcome to join the VMware Team on there, Team number 52737

Hope it gets better for you mate. Are you able to work from home at all?

 

I like to think positive, I think we'll see a boom this year once this has blown over with people spending more, eating out more and appreciating these things more. China already back to normal

 

We've been trying to move our school into the cloud for over 12 months or so, but they keep pushing back and we never got there. Coronavirus has done for us in a week, what we've been trying to do for a year. Microsoft Teams set up and populated, staff trained, teaching content uploaded in a week. Now working from home and I'm just as busy as when I'm in the office - who knew?
