Has anyone had any dealings with Councils and their IT people?

I have dealt with two this week in which we were expecting pages for their weekly free newspapers for staff.

Both phoned to say we can't upload the pages to the FTP site bith times it turned out their firewalls were blocking it.

It's weird because the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and the right hand has to give permission to the left hand to do what it needs to do. There's that much red tape just because they have to use an FTP client.

Spoke to their IT guy who was saying

"we can't upload and this time its not the firewall". "It is port 21 right?"

    Me "no it's port 423, ofcourse it's port 21"

Me " why don't you try a different client"

Council IT bloke "Ok, ahh that's worked"

Me "god dam douchebag, files coming in now".

    I hate councils :x

I've dealt with some in the past, however tier 1 is almost the same where ever you go... This guys was tier 1 or entry level, right?
