Daft question which I'm probably going to figure out for myself in a few minutes, but is it possible to take a Group Policy from one Domain, and paste it into another?

I mean, can I write a GP on a Virtual PC and then copy it off onto a live domain?

well, you can backup a gpo. just rightclick it and select backup. although i'm not sure about the level of detail, and i haven't tried to backup a gpo in one forest, and restore it in another forest. might be worth a try.

 

From where would I back it up? just tried in ADUC, and there's no option to back it up?

 

ah, i'm sorry, i'm so used to the group policy management console, i forgot it's a seperate install.
