Hello to everybody,

I'm new here so please be nice. Congratulations to everybody on passing the Comptia A+ exams, I apologize in advance if this question has

been posted many times and indeed answered even more. But I have just completed the IT Essentials course and am busy preparing and

revising for the two Comptia A+ exams - 601 and 602. The intention was for me to take the exams in September, but I have just read

somewhere that the exams expire on the 31st August. The problem is I'm taking these exams through my local college where I completed

the IT Essentials and they are now closed until September. So does that mean I've blown it and will now have to revise for the new 701

and 702. Many thanks for any answers you can give me, or any info where I can read up on all of this. I've just contacted my local college

and they didn't have a clue. Can I go to a local test centre and take the exams before the end of August - or does have to be through my

college. I also get a hefty discount from the college - so September would be a lot better for me. Thanks again

I understand that the 600 series A+ exams will expire on August 31, yes. If you do wish to take these particular exams, you will need to do so before that date. Otherwise you will need to look at the newer exams.

Sorry for the line breaks - typed in a hurry. So it means I can't go through the college now as it is closed until September. I feel they have let me down as they did not tell me this. So it will have to be through a test centre now and at full price, as I was receiving a 50% discount through the college. Thanks for the link.

I'd give the college a shout to be honest. Although they arent teaching over the summer, they usually have admin staff going (after all, theres a lot of work getting new students set up, etc). If you explain the situation to them, they might be able to arrange something for you.

I agree with Fergal1982, give the College a ring. I work in a secondary school in the IT Deparment and there will still be a lot of staff around even though it is the summer holiday. You should be able to resolve something over the phone, or even in person.
