CompTIA Strata - Green IT coming Jan 2010

    Following on from itskillsguy's thread here regarding the Strata Sales cert, I've found this: CompTIA Strata - Green IT

    You can see the objectives here.

    This is one Strata exam I wouldn't mind taking :)

    Don't you think all exams should have a green module built in? I'm not overly sure whether Green IT as a standalone will take off as quickly as the TechSales cert...

    Of course there's always the Foundation Cert from ISEB in Green IT :p

    You'd be surprised, just check out ISEB Green Cert...

    I did, however until I ran across the thread entitled: Accredited Green IT training discussion (this isn't an advert) (not sure if the link will work as it is a followed discussion on linkedin)

    I may still do the ISEB Green Cert, however it will be when the training material doesn't cost my whole training budget from work.

    Has anyone taken this yet? because i am actually intrested in doing it before my ITIL and my Driving Test.

    According to Vue, the only Strata exams that are currently available are the following:

    CompTIA Strata IT Technology for Sales Exam
    CompTIA Strata Fundamentals PC Functionality Test
    CompTIA Strata Fundamentals PC Technology Test
    CompTIA Strata IT Technology Exam

    The Green one has not been released yet, I have contacted Comptia to find out the date of when it will be released. Once they answer I will post it here :)

    I also want to do this exam, it sounds interesting - considering they state:

    Edit: Looks like the other Strata exams are £55 - a nice price compared to other Green Certs (or other Comptia exams)

    Got an answer back from Comptia:

    Well no fixed date of when the Green cert will be available, but at least it due out this quarter :)

    This definitely looks one of the more interesting ones (About 1000% more interesting than the MCDST), booked my driving test though.

    Something a bit different thats for sure.

    So get the directors to get the bus and the IT department can work from home through the VPN, sorted! :biggrin

    Green IT will officially launch on January 26, 2010. This exam will be available in English and available globally. It will be priced the same as other Strata Certificate exams: £55 member £65 non-member

    Cool, thanks... Is there any revision material yet? While I'm pretty sure that I'd pass it, it's always good to revise as I'd bet that it's geared up towards the US market (like the A+, etc).
